Meet your teacher
Dancing is so much more than learning about steps, keeping in time and listening to the music. It is about building confidence, finding that space to be yourself and to embrace that feeling of fulfilment that dancing can allow us to experience.
Thirteen years ago after a number of years dancing and teaching locally, I was at a point where I took the decision to start my own ballet school and begin the journey of mentoring and inspiring young dancers. Enabling them to understand how dance impacts on the other parts of our life in so many ways. So ELEVATE began.
My training had included over 15 years with RAD, a graduate in Dance from Cardiff Met and then the commitment to become affiliated with NATD. This has enabled the school to follow structured teachings with good foundational concepts.
Over the years I have seen scores of young people come through the doors with many staying to explore additional opportunities.
We have maintained a 100% exam pass rate with all pupils achieving either merits or distinctions.
I have always kept the safety and welfare of my pupils at the heart of my teaching meaning that I do not over task them with technique or choreography to avoid potential injury. However, I will encourage them to reach their full potential and feel that sense of achievement.
Highlights have included three showcases where the pupils can share their love of dancing with family and friends and have the opportunity to experience performing.
The school has developed over the years to include lessons alongside Ballet, Gymnastic Dance, Contemporary and Jazz. All classes include the fundamental building blocks necessary to enable pupils to develop strong technique and avoid injury.
As dancers progress there is an opportunity to audition for the Elevate’s Performance Team. The team meets weekly and rehearses complex routines which are performed at a number of venues. Highlights for the team have included London Theatres, WMC, Blackpool Tower and Disneyland Paris plus so many more.
It has been an amazing journey watching the team grow and savour these precious opportunities.
I am responsible for every class that I offer and this has allowed me to mentor some of the older dancers into Dance leaders, working towards Level 1 and 2.
This summer has seen our first cohort of GSCE Dance pupils. Undertaken as an additional GSCE, it has allowed those who do not have access to the subject in school to follow a subject for which they have a passion. We work alongside ArtsPool Education who deliver the theory element.
All classes across ELEVATE are carefully managed to ensure pupils are ready for the next stage of their learning.
If you would like to know more about sessions available and discuss what might be suitable for your child/young person, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Good to know
We welcome children from age 3 and up, with classes grouped by age, ability and grade.
Please ensure your child is dress appropriately for the class they are attending. If they don't have exam uniform preferably black top with leggings/shorts is preferred. We strongly advised the Elevate Merchandise to give a professional feel. Especially for the younger classes please do consider what they are wearing that they are able to undress themselves when they need the toilet. Please ensure their hair tied up neatly for safety.
Parking
Please avoid parking in the bus stop, as we use the main gates for pupils entering and exiting. There is a car park at the end of the road, as well as side street parking available. If you need disabled access or accessible parking then you are more than welcome to park in my venue car park.
We are strictly a drop off and pick up class, no parents are permitted to enter the venue unless they have been invited to by Miss Becky.
When your child enrols into a class they will remain in that class unless invited to move up a grade. Once they are in a holding class they will remain in that class and days/times shouldn't change.
Typically we run along the same term as schools. General rule is when schools are in we are in. We have the half terms, bank holidays, easter, summer break off.
Always check your invoices for any dates that have been altered.
When you create the parent portal you can add multiple people via the invite link, don't create multiple portals under the same student.
